Impuls   » Sustainability

With lasting effect.

Thinking and doing business on a sustainable basis is a matter that‘s close to our hearts and, in the way we see it, an ongoing process. Over the past two years, we have invested no end in making our production facilities even more climate-friendly than ever before.

Our photovoltaic system

5000-plus solar modules on our factory‘s roof generated well over one million kilowatt hours of electricity in 2020. This means an annual saving of around 100 tonnes of CO2. We have a generating surface totalling over 8000 square metres.

Our solid-fuel heating facility

We are currently replacing our gas and oil heating with a sustainable solid-fuel heating system. Once it goes into service, in 2021, we will noticeably reduce our CO2 emissions yet further.

Our hot air recovery system

Hot air generated from producing our furniture is efficiently extracted, filtered and fed back into heating the whole factory.

Our system of separating waste materials by type

Materials left over from producing our furniture is sorted by type and recycled.

Good news for your home
… and the environment.

Emission label for cabinet furniture

Emissions from furniture in indoor living spaces are a key issue. The stringent quality and testing conditions of the world’s first emission label for furniture are defined in RAL Registration (RG) 437. Particularly low in emissions, our home-healthy kitchen furniture regularly achieves category A as the best possible award rating under RAL-RG 437. This provides kitchen buyers with a reliable guide and gives them maximum safety.

Recycling certificate

We have received recycling certification from RKT Recycling Kontor Transportverpackungen GmbH & Co. KG (transport packaging recycling company) for participating in the take-back and recycling system. This ensures that packaging is collected and recycled by RKT‘s disposal partners. Our contract number: TV000109

Safety certificate under RAL-GZ (RAL Quality Label) 430

We regularly have our furniture quality checked by the German Furniture Quality Assurance Association (Deutsche Gütegemeinschaft Möbel e. V.) – among other aspects in respect of the requirements on protecting the environment and health safety (healthy home environment), choice of materials, surfaces, static and dynamic loads, endurance behaviour and workmanship. Our healthy-home furniture always complies in full with the stringent limits defined in RALGZ 430 in relation to emissions of volatile substances, such as formaldehyde.

PEFC
certified

Without exception, the timbers and wood-based materials we use to manufacture our homehealthy furniture all come from sustainably managed forests that carry the international PEFC label (“Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes”). The entire manufacturing process is certified and monitored. In addition, most of the timber and wood-based materials we use come from regional forestry here in Germany. So, anyone valuing sustainability and environmental protection should also look out for this label when buying furniture.
